Female Gaze

January 2019 - Roulette

Fresh Squeezed Opera will commission, develop, and present "The Female Gaze", a multi-media collaborative project in Spring 2019 that mixes music, theater, and visual art that will question the status quo of women in American society, to be presented for one night in Spring 2019 at Roulette. The Female Gaze will be the development and presentation of new works by Whitney George, Gemma Peacocke, and Gabi Herbst for female voice, ensemble, and electronics.

The NY Premiere of a new psychological, philosophical opera from John Aylward.

Bound

June 2019 - Baruch Performing Arts Center

A one-act chamber opera by Huang Ruo, Bound is inspired by a news headline recently: "Diane Tran, Honor Student at Texas High School, Jailed for Missing School." Mixing traditionally Eastern and Western instruments and musical techniques, the opera will depict the cultural conflicts immigrants face on a daily basis.
